Oracle Supply Chain Director in Seattle, Washington

Job Description

Plans and implements activities related to the timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.

Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamline procedures, and implement solutions. Ensures the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at acceptable levels. Responsible for sourcing and supplying raw materials, utilities and outside services, as well coordinating global procurement efforts. Coordinates with finance/accounting on matters involving inventory carrying costs. Reviews and plans needs for acceptable inventory. May assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system. May work with customers in auditing customer inventory levels and with internal and external vendors to comply with inventory policies. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations is important. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and ability to multitask. Ability to travel as needed. Demonstrated leaderships skills. BA/BS degree or equivalent. Advanced degree desirable.


The role is responsible for Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Management including E&O, and LT Management.

  • Collaborate with the BU on Demand Planning including supporting them with best practices, data analytics, and automation

  • Collaborate with EMs on formalizing supply commits, understand gating constraints, and work with Procurement and Eng teams in formulating effective mitigation strategies

  • Responsible for E2E E&O Management - Validation, Mitigation, Justification, Approvals and Claims processing. Work with Finance and BU to provide quarterly projections and make reserve recommendations. Formulate transition/consumption strategies for proactive E&O avoidance

  • Collaborate with BU and Eng teams for product transition planning including product lifecycle planning (ramp up/ramp down planning)

  • Support implementation of EM Strategies

  • Partner with EMs on simulation planning to assess the impacts of anticipated demand/supply changes
