Nordstrom Strategic Sourcing Manager - Technology- Remote in United States

Job Description

This job contributes to Nordstrom success by effectively developing and leading sourcing strategies supporting our Technology related categories of spend (software, hardware, telecom, etc.), effectively managing suppliers and internal networks to deliver best in class performance and experiences for our customers.

Consistently delivers measurable and strategic goals to enable a competitive advantage to bottom-line and top-line company growth, and corporate social responsibility leadership. Manages a global spend of $100 Million+ depending upon market complexity.

**We can offer this role remote but if you are located in the Seattle, WA area, this role would be hybrid and would require you to be in office three days per week- Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Also if you are remote there would be travel required for this role, about 3-4 times per year.

A day in the life...

  • Manage the contract life cycle of all spend categories for the assigned technology related commodities

  • Develop effective multi-year negotiation strategies to enable success.

  • Leads highly complex cross functional teams and collaborates effectively internally and with suppliers.

  • Employ strong knowledge of key industry players, competitors, and market dynamics.

  • Develop new effective business and professional relationships with strategic suppliers and industry players.

  • Professionally manage and measure suppliers for continuous performance and improvement.

  • Employ advanced program and project management tools, solutions, and techniques.

  • Draft and redline a wide variety of agreements.

  • Effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Independently solve problems and make decisions for primary and strategic execution and tactical issues within the relevant portfolio of projects and or processes.

  • Provide day to day oversight and drive for strong business results.

  • Effectively collaborate with strategic sourcing peers and various stakeholders and leadership teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6+ years procurement analytic, procurement/strategic sourcing, contract management, and other relevant experience. Experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or procurement required. Experience in sourcing all technology related categories of spend a must.

  • Strong knowledge of Sourcing category strategy, supplier relationship management, ‘should-cost’ models, and multi-year negotiation strategies, supplier continuous improvement programs and Lean Initiatives. Distributor/Supplier dynamics & business models

  • Knowledge of critical procurement legal requirements and contracting best practices a plus

  • Knowledge of business ethics and Ethical Sourcing Requirements

  • Ability to influence at an Executive Level both internally and externally. Ability to lead and influence peer groups both internally and externally.

  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication

  • Strong experience with MS Office Suite, Coupa and others

  • Ability to structure bids, evaluate bids against a broad set of evaluation criteria and provide recommendations for vendor selection.

  • Vendor risk management experience

  • Knowledge of contracting trends, licensing models, and traditional and emerging contract and vendor performance models in the retail industry; expert negotiation tactics and strategies; proven track record of negotiations that result in cost savings and risk avoidance.

California: $89,000 - $181,500 Annually, Colorado: $89,000 - $147,000 Annually, Connecticut: $89,000 - $170,500 Annually, District of Columbia: $102,500 - $170,500 Annually, Hawaii: $89,000 - $147,000 Annually, Nevada: $89,000 - $147,000 Annually, New York: $89,000 - $181,500 Annually, Rhode Island: $89,000 - $147,000 Annually, Washington: $89,000 - $170,500 Annually
