Become part of the next wave of cloud growth by joining the Oracle North-America Cloud Strategic Sales team. You will be working with large, high-growth Enterprise customers to provide them with the best cloud infrastructure to scale and power their business on Oracle cloud (OCI). Your ability in using Oracle’s Cloud value proposition; whether its increased market share, time to market, improved functionality or cost reduction will determine your success.

Are you an experienced, strategic sales executive who wants to drive large cloud/ platform deals that yield significant strategic value, publicity, market share, and revenue on OCI within the Strategic Sales practice?

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Pursuit Leaders drive the sales process and outcomes for major strategic cloud opportunities

  • Work in partnership with leadership, field account teams, business development, cloud engineering, industry architects, and horizontally across the Oracle technology ecosystem to lead the pursuit & capture of Oracle Cloud mega-deals

  • Leads the account team through the entire sales process from initial planning, strategic targeting, deal origination, building trust and credibility, negotiation, through closure.

  • This role will set the deal direction, own the pursuit strategy, assign roles, manage quality of work, and be accountable to the overall revenue and cost objectives of Oracle’s strategic targeted accounts.

  • Identifies key decision makers at targeted accounts and deeply understands their decision-making process and executive influencers

  • Primary influencer to modeling the business case, adoption frameworks and business outcomes to build and execute the winning strategies

  • Develops executive and senior management relationships, being viewed as a "trusted advisor” within targeted pursuits and internal Oracle partners

  • Defines and influences approval on financial and commercial structures balancing OCI’s current and future capabilities, customer requests, partners, competition, market demand, and business outcomes

  • Be a change-agent, game-changer, and collaborator to mobilize ”one oracle”

Required Skills/Experience

  • Minimum of 15+ years successful experience in developing large scale, dynamic deals, leading the supporting sales cycle, and working across internal Business Units to drive successful outcomes

  • Must be a validated deal maker leading & closing transactions of $50M+ annual revenue

  • Brings a deep understanding of how to build a mutually beneficial business outcome via different forms of partnerships and strategic investments

  • Understands how to navigate and influence sophisticated internal processes and teams to nurture non-standard deal structures

  • Exudes strong technical aptitude in the areas of IaaS/ PaaS/ Cloud-native transformation to gain credibility with engineering (Internal & external) partners

  • Possesses a knowledge of the Oracle technology stack and OCI or very deep knowledge of a competitor (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM, etc.) will be critical for success in this role

  • Demonstrable C-level collaboration, presentation experience, and relationships are helpful

  • Thoroughly understands the economics and adoption patterns of cloud transformation, the associated delivery models, and trends to influence and anticipate change

  • Must be an innovative and structured problem solver who can help steer product requirements, business models, marketing strategies, and commercial structures to effectively respond to opportunities

  • Ideal candidates will come from similar roles in a major public cloud competitor (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM, etc.), Global Consults and SI’s (EY, Cognizant, Infosys, Deloitte, etc.), or similar large deal roles with global media/ edge solution providers (VZ Media, ATT, Akamai, etc)

  • Travel may be needed.

Opinion is frequently sought by Executive key decision makers around highly complex issues with major impact to the business. Responsible for leading the sales team to develop strategic relationships with strategic clients and/or is the lead negotiator for the largest, most strategic deals.

Typically requires a minimum of 15+ years of related experience with 10+ years of sales experience, negotiating and closing mega deals with major accounts. Strong executive presence as the deals they work on will have C-level visibility both within Oracle and at the customer. Deep industry experience including knowledge of all Oracle solutions is required. History and track record of achievement of revenue objectives. Excellent presentation skills. Requires sales skills, product knowledge/problem-solving/solution skills. Cross LOB/BU or international team management experience. BS or BA degree preferred. Masters degree is a plus. Typically the IC6 level requires top management review and approval due to barriers of entry into this career level.
