Job Title: Statutory Reporting AnalystJob Description
We are seeking a skilled Statutory Reporting Analyst to lead the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements in compliance with NAIC requirements and accounting principles. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can ensure timely and accurate filings, monitor changes in accounting legislation, and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external auditors.
Responsibilities
Lead the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements in compliance with NAIC requirements and accounting principles.
Ensure timely and accurate filings of other NAIC-required schedules for regulatory filings.
Monitor and assist in implementing changes in accounting legislation, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.
Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors during audits and reviews.
Perform account reconciliations in a timely manner, resolve reconciling items and variances each month, and review and approve reconciliations prepared by other subsidiary personnel.
Assist with report building and migration as needed.
Maintain written accounting policies and procedures that model effective workflows, and review and update them annually as necessary.
Identify, analyze, and develop operational improvements to ensure the department operates efficiently and resources are maximized while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Assist in identifying opportunities for streamlining and potentially outsourcing statutory reporting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business field, or five years of experience in the accounting field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Understand and prepare STAT financial statements, including an understanding of financial accounting systems and report writing.
Proficient in Excel and capable of interpreting and working with large data sets.
Experience in NAIC reporting for insurance companies.
Knowledge of financial reporting and GAAP.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts.
Ability to make recommendations to management about accounting issues.
Ability to work well in a team environment while being self-directed in work and time management.
Work Environment
The work environment is dynamic and collaborative, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement. The role involves working with advanced financial accounting systems and large data sets, requiring proficiency in Excel. The position may include opportunities to streamline processes and potentially outsource certain functions to maximize efficiency. The work hours are standard business hours, and the dress code is business casual.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
