VMware Staff Program Manager - VMware Government Services in Seattle, Washington
The VMware Government Services (VGS) Program Management Office (PMO) is seeking a seasoned Staff Program Manager to join our group. Our team promotes a culture of agility, operational rigor, visibility, accountability, and data-informed decisions. We are responsible for leading cross-functional teams to deliver compliance accreditations for VMware’s cloud services, which are critical to meet the high security and compliance standards of our US public sector customers.
As a Staff Program Manager, you will plan and deliver these cloud compliance accreditations in partnership with VMware Engineering, Product, Compliance, Security, and Sales teams. We are looking for someone to:
Drive technical, operational and go-to-market readiness for VMware service teams to achieve their cloud compliance authorizations on schedule
Enable VMware services teams to efficiently conduct technical gap assessment, operational process implementation, documentation, and audit readiness activities
Build solid, integrated master program plans (schedule, dependencies, risks, etc.) in collaboration with VMware service and stakeholder teams
Proactively identify risks, issues and drive their resolution
Report on your programs to executive stakeholders. Be the trusted speaker on the state of your programs in key checkpoint reviews.
Advocate for process best practices, high quality standards and innovation with your delivery team
Develop a working knowledge of the operational processes and controls for relevant cloud compliance programs
Manage vendors and any related procurement processes
Update and maintain Confluence so stakeholders can view the state of the program at any time
7+ years of experience in project/program management
7+ years of experience developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships across large organizations.
Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
Exceptional skills influencing, teaming, and delivering solutions in a highly complex and nebulous environment. Ability to conceive of and accept responsibility for projects and see them through to completion.
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently in as fast paced environment and drive change across VMware service teams.
Considerable experience with Microsoft Office
Experience with FedRAMP and DOD SRG certifications
Experience with cloud computing and the US public sector/regulated industry
Experience at a Cloud Service Provider, technology/software firm, systems integrator, US Government agency, or security/compliance consulting firm
Experience working with project/program management tools (e.g. Smartsheet, Microsoft Project)
Considerable experience using enterprise productivity tools such as JIRA and Confluence
Program Management certification (PMP) or equivalent
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
This position will perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil, and therefore any offer will be contingent upon verification of both of these requirements
