Job Information

Amazon Sr. UX Designer, Futures Design in Seattle, Washington

Description

We're looking for a Senior UX Designer who is passionate about inventing meaningful future experiences that have positive global impact and improve the lives of our customers. A leader in design thinking, you're able to balance the known customer needs of today with the known and unknown possibilities of tomorrow to envision the future. You take the team and wider stakeholders on the journey of seeing into the future today. You’re comfortable working with a multi-disciplinary team from early concept generation (brainstorms and basic sketches) through to polished solutions (high fidelity outputs that excites leaders to invest). Through your craft, you elevate seeds of ideas into desirable solutions. Your curiosity to push boundaries and innovate will inspire those around you and facilitate team growth, while your hands-on, collaborative nature will build trust with your peers and mature their ability to turn ambiguity into tangible experiences.

Drawing from customer insights, industry trends and business requirements, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to uncover insights and ideate on innovative solutions. Strong storytelling and presentation skills are essential, as this UX designer will need to clearly communicate the design strategy, outcomes, and deliverables to diverse stakeholders. You must thrive in ambiguity and be comfortable making high-judgment calls throughout the design process, including deciding when to escalate risks or pivot from the plan.

Key job responsibilities

  • Bring concepts to life through various mediums (e.g., prototypes, motion, video, high-fidelity visuals and physical form factors).

  • Comfortable with all phases of the innovation design lifecycle (e.g., discovery, ideation, prioritization, refinement and building a narrative to share broadly).

  • Collaborate with wide range of stakeholders (including senior leadership, tech, product, etc). throughout the design process.

  • Work with ambiguity and generate divergent concepts. You can explore broad themes but also find the compelling nuggets to go deeper.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, customer needs and competitive landscape to inform design strategy

  • Digest a lot of information, make sense of it and turn it into meaningful experiences for our customers and business.

  • Working in a small team of highly skilled individuals, you relish collaboration to push ideas but can also work autonomously.

  • Utilize strong storytelling and presentation skills to clearly communicate the design strategy, outcomes, and deliverables to diverse stakeholders
