Amazon is investing heavily in building a world class Advertising business and the Ad Sales Experience (ASX) team is at the head of this growth machine enabling our sales teams to deliver at scale. Our goal is to scale account management multifold by investing in strategic self-service applications that improve productivity of external advertising customers and internal account management executives.

This is a relatively new team, with a focused initiative, looking for a motivated Technical Program leader with a proven track record of building web applications and services at scale. We’re a fast-growing team with high visibility from the leadership team and lots of new opportunities in the next growth driver for Amazon.

Key job responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Program Manager for ASX, you will lead the execution of the ASX vision and roadmap. The ASX program is structured into three main components: (1) Horizontal capabilities (aka “ASX foundation”) that are key enablers for the system. These capabilities provide the framework for developers to be able to build experiences that are user facing; (2) The workflows, which support the key sales motions of planning, pitching, executing, and analyzing; and (3) Go-to-market initiatives, that build awareness with Sales teams, develop training materials, and drive key usage goals with Ad Sales

The Senior TPM will deliver on ASX goals across all components and be the glue that stitches together successful ASX launches. A successful candidate will have experience working in a high pace environment, have strong bias for action, and be comfortable in working in an ambiguous environment. They will work with global teams to identify and prioritize needs, able to effectively influence up and across the organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of technologies and capabilities into a high quality experience customers love.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
