You will be part of the team chartered with building the AWS Sales Governance Playbook, the definitive guide for how the global AWS field should operate at each stage of the sales cycle and leverage a growing ecosystem of programs, tools, and engagement strategies. As the lead writer and producer for the playbook, you will be responsible for distilling information-heavy sales policies and processes into clear, concise documentation that is easy for sellers to consume and understand. In addition to writing and editing content, you will also contribute to the information experience design on the AWS sales portal, ensuring playbook content is organized and presented in a way that fosters efficient and effective understanding.Responsibilities:* Manage all aspects of playbook production-writing, editing, design, and distribution.* Collaborate with sales process owners to develop a deep understanding of our sales practices and then devise a strategy for documenting the information in a user-focused format.* Proactively engage with process owners to address gaps in content coverage, asking great questions to advocate for sellers.* Ensure that all written content is up to the highest quality standards and maintains complete fidelity to accuracy and proper handling of sensitive data.* Lead discussions with the sales portal UX team to design templates, decision trees, and other digital information experiences that make content consumption easy and remove barriers to understanding.* Track content effectiveness metrics and utilize that data to fine tune messaging and/or content design.The ideal candidate shows serious obsession for our sellers and works backwards from their needs to create great information experiences. You are an exceptional writer and editor who excels at conveying complex concepts in a highly readable, user-focused format. You have high standards and an unwavering attention to detail, even under tight deadlines. You have the experience needed to lead conversations with subject matter experts about project strategy, issues, and solutions, and have demonstrated leadership in delivering results in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.Other preferred locations: Seattle, WA/ Dallas, TX/ Boston, MA/ Arlington, VA/ or other locations in the US where Amazon has a presence will be considered.Basic Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in English, technical writing/communication, or a related discipline, or comparable professional experience.* 5+ years' experience writing or editing user documentation.* Excellent writing and editing skills with a demonstrated ability to present complex and highly detailed information, clearly and concisely.* Exceptionally high standards and attention to detail.* Portfolio of writing samples.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
