We are searching for a Sr. Technical Writer who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, is passionate about processes and innovation, and has a strong content and technical writing background. As a Sr. Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality knowledge base content for technical and non-technical audiences. You will work with our Tech Teams to plan, create, test, maintain, and deliver technical documentation for a technical audience. You will play a role in the development of a successful and effective global PV support team, including the development and management of content strategy. This role demands a high capacity to Invent and Simplify, Bias for Action, and Deliver Results as we need to be continually adapting to the fast-moving environment and push to drive efficiency and simplification for global customers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with PV Support, Product, UX Designers, other Tech Writers and Builders to optimize and maintain external content for usability and accessibility, while maintaining a high bar for quality.

  • Work collaboratively with internal global stakeholders to conceptualize and develop content that strengthens the PV brand with world-class knowledge base articles

  • Create, maintain, and edit user guides that are used by a wide audience with varying skill levels.

  • Triage internal and external customer feedback, use metrics to identify underperforming content and present/implement a plan for improvement

  • Manage all aspects of the documentation process; planning, testing, maintaining, localization and delivery.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a technical editor or writer of technical documentation working with style guides

  • Experience and familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and content publishing from start to finish

  • Familiarity with industry digital delivery standards, specifications, and delivery formats with the capacity to acquire new technology concepts quickly

  • Experience working on technical content for developers, DevOps professionals, and end users

  • Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders to define and manage terminology and content while coordinating release schedules

  • Ability to work well across diverse groups, and influence and get things done

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or have equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with XML and mark-up languages, Brightspot and documenting APIs

  • Knowledge and familiarity with digital video file formats including but not limited to the following: digital master files, Mezz (Mezzanine) files, Movielabs, HDR, and compressed deliverables

  • Experience with UX writing

  • Experience with localization and coordinating on international documentation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $102,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $191,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
