To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright and driven people.The North American Reliability, Maintenance, and Engineering group (NA RME) is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to join the Fire/Life-Safety (FLS) team and play a critical role in engineering facility fire protection and supporting new site launch activity across Amazon's North American Fulfilment Network. The NA RME group supports NA Operations, by providing reliability, maintenance, and engineering services for all business types in the fulfillment network.The Senior Fire and Life Safety Technical Program Manager will be responsible for the execution and improvement of programs supporting the design and specification of FLS systems prior to new facility launch.The successful candidate will have 10+ years of experience in performance-based FLS design and engineering experience - collaborating with multiple stakeholders to drive standardization of FLS system designs, while reducing costs, ensuring system maintainability, and adapting to local code requirements. The Sr Technical Program Manager must have extensive large project and program management experience, and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, technical environment.This is a virtual role that may work from any location in North America with 5+Mbps internet bandwidth and within reasonable proximity to an airport indexed by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The role may require travel inside North America depending on service demand.Key Tasks/Responsibilities:* Apply expert-level understanding of fire protection engineering principles, code compliance, sprinkler design, alarm design, and performance-based and prescriptive fire engineering solutions across FLS system lifecycles.* Review fire sprinkler and fire alarm drawings to ensure compliance with Amazon design criteria, local requirements, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.* Contribute to the development of Amazon fire protection standards and specifications in collaboration with the Worldwide Design team.* Define and execute strategy to integrate Fire Protection into Amazon's Third Party Commissioning Program.* Monitor and manage key vendor relationships to ensure contracted resources deliver work to meet time and quality targets, addressing and correcting under-performance issues.* Track, and advance a multi-project portfolio. This includes identifying common stage gates, managing blocking issues, and making reasonable compromises to meet committed outcomes and achieve program-related metrics.* Advise on strategies and present periodic updates to senior Managers and Directors, as well as internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization.* Develop and implement consistent and repeatable processes for FLS projects support.* Conduct field assessments to facilitate performance testing and system inspections as well as provide construction oversight when required.* Travel in North America depending on project requirements up to 75%* Collaborate as needed with other FLS partners and stakeholders such as Design & Construction, Risk Management, Workplace Health & Safety, Legal, etc.* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Fire Protection, Civil, Mechanical, or related field)* Fire Protection Engineering License/Certification (PE) and related professional certifications (CFPS, CSP, ARM, RME-G, SET etc.)* 10+ years experience in a mid-size or large company in the following areas: project management, engineering design, and construction management with proven successes in projects greater than $10M* Experience in Fire Protection design and implementation, including familiarity with FLS systems in type 1A constructionAmazon is committed to a diverse and
