Description

Are you passionate about solving large-scale, complex problems and transforming data into actionable insights? We are seeking a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join ES Strategy and Planning team. In this role, you will work closely with Business Intelligence Engineers (BIEs), Product Managers and Business Operations Managers (BOMs) to enhance our data infrastructure; building Single Source of Truth.

As a pivotal member of the team, you will lead the end-to-end execution of major projects aimed at enhancing our overall architecture and customer reporting features. Your work will ensure that our data infrastructure is not only scalable and reliable but also optimized to support critical decision-making processes across the organization.

In this role, you will be the driving force behind bridging the gap between technical and business teams. You’ll be responsible for managing project schedules, coordinating production launches, and ensuring clear communication of goals, roles, and responsibilities. Your ability to navigate and solve complex technical challenges while balancing business priorities will be key to delivering impactful solutions.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned technical program manager with a deep understanding of data infrastructure and business intelligence development. Key job responsibilities

Lead Project Delivery: Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects across multiple teams. Break down business requirements into actionable tasks, solve technical challenges, and ensure timely, agile delivery.

Translate Business Needs into Technical Solutions: Work with AWS product owners and internal customers to understand business requirements and convert them into clear technical specifications. Recommend alternative approaches and lead engineering efforts to meet deadlines.

Coordinate Technical Development: Collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineers to oversee the technical development environment, track project progress, and manage implementation. Anticipate challenges, handle escalations, and make trade-offs as needed.

Communicate Across Teams: Ensure clear communication of project progress and technical details with senior leadership and partner organizations.

Balance Constraints: Anticipate bottlenecks and balance business needs with technical limitations to keep projects on track.

Manage Resources and Prioritize: Oversee resource allocation and prioritize projects in partnership with Product Owners and Business Stakeholders to maximize impact and align with strategic goals.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
