AWS is looking for an experienced Enterprise Solutions Architect to help advise our Telecommunication customers with how to best adopt and leverage the value of the AWS cloud. Your customer facing skills will enable you to represent AWS not only to customers but to the broader Telco, and Service Provider community, including engineers, developers, & architects. You will bring the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help Telco organizations understand advanced cloud-based solutions and how to migrate existing on-prem workloads into the cloud. The ability to link technology with measurable business value will lead to your success in the Sr. Solution Architect's role. You will help shape and execute a strategy to build mind share and broaden the adaption of AWS.

Key job responsibilities

  • Understand the technical/business requirements of each telco service provider’s business and IT strategy and work closely with the internal AWS development team to guide the direction on how the customer will adopt and gain benefits of the AWS portfolio.

  • Build deep relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor for their critical workloads and support their digital transformation/journey to the cloud.

  • Drive business engagements to develop strategies for complex enterprise systems' migration to the cloud.

  • Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure they design solutions for resiliency, security, and cost optimization.

  • Collaborate across the AWS teams to drive and shape new Telcom/IT Solutions and Mechanisms for repeatable customer business outcomes.

  • Represent and Promote AWS within the Telecommunications, Enterprise, and Service Provider community.

  • Fluently communicate with customers at C-level, stakeholders, boardrooms and peers, becoming the “trusted advisor”.

  • Assist Partners in designing and implementing large-scale network transformations programs and solutions.

  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge for deploying, running and managing solutions on AWS.

  • Contribute to AWS internal and customer-facing publications such as white-papers and blogs as a means of scaling your knowledge.

  • Influence cloud services roadmap, by acting as a liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support to address customer needs.

  • Open to travel within up to 25% as required for customer meetings.

A day in the life

As a Sr. Solutions Architect, you will partner with customers, AWS Sales, and several other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems and accelerate their adoption of AWS services. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help customers understand best practices around cloud-based solutions. You will seek out opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mind share and broaden the use of the AWS platforms across the customer's organization. You will utilize your ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent

  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

  • 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience

  • 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience

  • Experience architecting or deploying Cloud/Virtualization solutions in enterprise customers

  • 5+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in AI/ML (1+ in Generative AI specifically)

  • 5+ years Building data platforms; including big data, data streaming, datalakes, analytics, and BI. (for AWS Native and/or partner services)

  • 5+ years Developing Solutions using modern architectures (e.g. micro-services, containers), and DevOps tools

  • 5+ years’ Experience in Technical Pre-Sales for complex technical solutions

  • 3+ years Experience using machine learning and familiar with current Gen AI

  • 3+ years developing business plans, technical strategies and service roadmaps

  • Strong presentation skills, high degree of confidence speaking with C-Suite level executives, engineers, managers, and larger conference audiences

  • Passion for technology and for diving deep on new learning

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or Information Technology

  • 5+ Years of experience working with Machine Learning and Data Science communities.

  • 3+ years of experience working with AWS ML technologies.

  • Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges (internal/external) and mitigate business risks.

  • Previous experience architecting, building or operating solutions build on AWS

  • AWS certifications

  • Managed Large Customer engagements

  • Ability to build demos, hands-on in the cloud

  • Experience writing and publishing technical whitepapers or patents

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $122,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $239,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
