Job Description

As a Senior Engineer in our AI Tooling team, you will be instrumental in creating tools and patterns that advance the Nordstrom Technology Organization with Generative AI solutions for our developer community. You will help craft the technical strategy to evolve our organization by leveraging cutting-edge tooling, aiming to make all engineers at Nordstrom more productive.   • Technical Development: Design, develop, and maintain AI-driven tools that enhance the productivity of our engineering teams.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to gather requirements and deliver robust, scalable solutions.

  • Hands-On Engineering: Engage directly in coding and development to ensure the successful implementation of AI tools.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the reliability, performance, and security of the AI tools, while adhering to best practices and secure coding standards.

  • Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Infrastructure Management: Implement and manage scalable infrastructure using Kubernetes and AWS.

  • Database Management: Develop and optimize databases to support AI tools and applications.

  • Innovation: Stay current with emerging AI technologies and industry trends to continually improve the tooling ecosystem.

You own this if you have...

  • 7+ years of software engineering industry experience.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science-related field, or equivalent industry experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior or lead engineering position.

  • Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, Go, or Java.

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.

  • Strong understanding of AI concepts and technologies, including tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Microsoft AutoGen, or similar.

  • Proven track record of leading and driving technical projects.

  • Experience with frameworks that deploy apps to AWS.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $120,500-$220,500 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
