Job Information

Amazon Sr Software Dev Engineer - Technical Lead, Native Commerce Advertising in Seattle, Washington

Description

The Native Commerce Advertising Team is launching a groundbreaking product that will extend the reach of Sponsored Products to product reviews, deal roundups, and similar commerce content across the web. Our goal is to help publishers discover and feature a wider variety of products in their content, ultimately providing Amazon customers with more product choices.

As a senior SDE, you have a unique opportunity to be a key leader on the founding team and help craft the vision for this startup-like initiative. You will be joining a small but extraordinarily talented and highly motivated team of SDEs and Applied Scientists, working to build one of Amazon's next multi-billion dollar business opportunities. This role is perfect for those that thrive in highly ambiguous, fast paced environments.

Since we are building something new from the ground up, this role will be a combination of technical design and hands on development. You will set the technical direction, explore new technologies such as Large Language Models, and integrate with systems across both Sponsored Products and Amazon more broadly to balance the needs of advertisers, publishers, and customers at Amazon-scale. Additionally, you will own operational excellence, mentor and lead engineers, set a high bar for success, and provide feedback to aid in their growth as they deliver on our shared vision.

Key job responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical lead on our highest impact, cross-functional projects

  • Exert technical influence over team members and partner teams by sharing your deep knowledge and experience

  • Ensure the quality of architecture and system design

  • Build system components and machine learning infrastructure to optimize sourcing, adoption and delivery of Sponsored Products across publishers

  • Integrate your work with high volume and low latency distributed systems

  • Measure the impact of your work through rapid experimentation

  • Drive innovation through proof of concepts to spin-off new initiatives

  • Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
