AWS Identity enables customers to manage authentication, authorization, and governance in the AWS Cloud. These services enable customers to securely manage and audit access to their AWS accounts and infrastructure anywhere along their AWS Cloud journey. With AWS, customers can use purpose-built identity, directory, and access services to help them easily and securely migrate existing workloads to the AWS Cloud and build new cloud-native applications.



We own and develop Big Data and Analytics platform for Identity and Control services which process and handle large volumes of data to generate business metrics and insights that is consumed by several key stakeholders like security engineers, service owners, leadership team, business intelligence teams. Our primary goal is to develop next generation analytics platform that scales easily, raise the bar of data handling standards while providing fully self service functionality in using our platform.

Key job responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Provide technical leadership, drive architecture, design and implementation of complex components while maintaining an uncompromising bar on quality, and mentoring junior developers for software within the team.

  • Demonstrate high judgement and raise the bar of data handling and quality standards

  • Have a significant bottom-line impact on our business by building business critical data solutions.

  • Drive operational excellence by constantly improving our systems, monitoring, processes.

  • Additionally, as our organization is growing, help the team in hiring top-notch engineers

A day in the life

Platform development: Design, propose, develop or improve Analytics platform incrementally to achieve our team goals.

Work with stakeholder (PMs, SDMs, leadership) to understand the requirements of projects and deliver them successfully

Reviews: Review code, design or proposals produced by your peers and help raise our bar

Operational Excellence: Review challenges and limitations of our platform and processes and work with the team to improve

Mentorship: Guide and assist in career develop your peers. Drive knowledge sharing

Celebrate wins, share learnings and most importantly have fun.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $134,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
