Amazon Sr. Security TPM, Stores Strategic Risk Insights in Seattle, Washington
Description
Amazon Security is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager with a strong delivery record and proven program management experience to join our Strategic Risk Insights (SRI) team. Our team empowers stakeholders to grow securely by enabling leaders to understand and manage their risks and the impact of their decisions. We go beyond traditional methods of risk management, providing teams with insightful data and novel tools to make informed decisions that unlock opportunities and drive innovation.
This role will support security excellence initiatives within SRI, analyzing operations, identifying opportunities, and managing the execution of projects and programs. The Senior Technical Program Manager is responsible for implementing and driving program management for large-scale, complex, global information security events and initiatives, communicating with leadership, and transforming nebulous needs into actionable security solutions. You will partner with service, engineering, and security teams, bringing process and rigor to both response and non-response focused programs. You will play a critical role in optimizing processes to benchmark best-in-class operations, standardize performance, and drive continuous improvement. This requires managing and balancing multiple priorities simultaneously, and at times, supporting response operations with our incident response and vulnerability management teams.
In this role, you'll help support our mission: empowering leaders with the insights they need to manage risks and drive innovation securely. You will have the opportunity to challenge traditional risk management methods, pushing the boundaries to make data-driven decisions that have a real impact on our organization and our customers.
Key job responsibilities
Key job responsibilities:
• Develop and execute cross-functional project plans with enterprise-wide impact, driving security excellence across key domains such as vulnerability management, incident response, and secure software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Lead initiatives to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate security risks across Amazon’s diverse subsidiaries and business lines, ensuring seamless alignment with Strategic Risk Insights (SRI)’s mission to enable secure and scalable growth.
• Apply both structured methodologies and creative problem-solving techniques to complex, dynamic, and multi-disciplinary security challenges, adapting to evolving threat landscapes and business priorities.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, building trust and credibility at all organizational levels while maintaining confidentiality and discretion with sensitive data.
• Exhibit strong ownership and leadership by driving cross-functional teams through the full project lifecycle, from planning and execution to post-implementation review, fostering collaboration, and building long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
• Navigate a fast-paced, high-velocity environment while managing competing priorities and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives to meet or exceed project timelines and security goals.
• Decompose high-level, abstract goals into specific, measurable work items, utilizing tools such as Agile methodologies or other frameworks to ensure clear deliverables and alignment across teams.
A day in the life
You can expect all the challenges and benefits of a high-profile business: wide-open space for improvement and innovation, a strong performing team, and a fast-paced environment. These will require a willingness to dive into the details, solve new problems as they arise, leverage high judgment, and a willingness to disrupt current processes to enhance them—all while obsessing over customer outcomes.
If you enjoy working at scale in a rapidly changing environment and influencing the protection of customers’ data within a large global organization, this position will provide you with a challenging opportunity.
