Amazon B2B Payments and Lending team is looking for a Sr. Risk Manager to join the Payments team to manage the credit performance of Japan Lending portfolio. The successful candidate will be a thought leader who will be responsible for identifying, assessing, managing and reporting credit risks to help build and scale a best-in-class credit management program with close partnership with the Japan onsite operations team.

Key job responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role include managing end-to-end credit strategy across customer lifecycle and through economic cycles and other shocks:

• Establish risk appetite metrics and escalation thresholds

• Identify emerging risks proactively and propose solutions to curb negative impact to Amazon balance sheet

• Assist in defining policies, product features and SOPs to scale credit decisioning in an efficient way

• Partner with underwriting operations on complex credit decisions that require manual reviews or exceptions

• Identify innovations and drive experiments that provide customers with a great payment experience

• Own relationships with Account Receivables to establish and manage loss mitigation and recovery processes

• Partner with Product to balance portfolio growth and risk mitigation

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Advanced knowledge of SQL, and analytical tools such as Python libraries/R/SAS etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent

  • Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship

  • Experience working with a global team spread across 2 or more timezones

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
