Amazon Sr. Risk and Controls Manager, PXT Employee Onboarding and Administration in Seattle, Washington

PXT Employee Onboarding & Administration (EOA) is looking for a Sr. Risk and Controls Manager to join the Risk, Compliance, and Policy team (RCP).

As the Sr. Risk and Controls Manager you will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing a control-integrated framework across our core functions to proactively monitor, identify and mitigate risk to the EOA organization. We will rely on your judgement to assess areas of risk using our risk-based decision-making mechanisms and determine which controls should be prioritized for implementation across multiple global teams. You must able to work independently, navigate ambiguity and bring structure on how best to monitor our complex business products and processes. You will work across a wide variety of teams, including product, tech, services, finance, legal, security and others to identify, prioritize and execute against the controls framework. Your strong communication skills will enable you to directly influence our customer business and technology decisions and quickly triage issues that may arise.

Key job responsibilities

  • Create and implement a control-integrated framework, comprising preventative and/or detective controls, across our core functions that can be scaled and iterated over time.

  • Work with service, product, and tech owners to identify, build, implement and track relevant controls (e.g. rules, mechanisms, measures, policies, procedures, or technical solutions) to reduce organizational risk and protect EOA and our customers.

  • Own the development and implementation of audit processes to track implemented controls, identify areas of risk that require controls and implement new or revised policies and controls.

  • Develop metrics and mechanisms to regularly track and report progress, improve operational efficiency, streamline existing control measures, remove redundancies and proactively identify escalations.

  • Work independently to research complex business issues, understand financial and legal requirements, determine a point of view and advise leadership by presenting clear benefits and risks tradeoff analysis for decisions.

  • Lead multiple global business-critical projects from concept through delivery and effectively navigate through ambiguity, dependencies, and bottlenecks to deliver on time.

  • Build trust, rapport, and a strong working relationship with organizational leaders, Finance, Labor & Employment Legal, and other key stakeholders.

The EOA organization owns the end-to-end Joining Amazon, Contingent Worker Lifecycle and Administration experiences. We build technology and support the services that deliver the best possible experiences for employees, contingent workers, people managers, and HR professionals globally. The Risk, Compliance and Policy (RCP) team works to ensure that the products we launch are born compliant and identify and manage risks that arise within the appetite of the organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience developing and implementing of standards, policies and programs or equivalent

  • Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in compliance, audit or risk management

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
