As a Senior Researcher, you’ll join a global team of user experience experts taking a fresh-eyed look at the complex world of business purchasing and trying to make it easier and more intuitive. This role is an opportunity to help shape the largest b2b subscription service.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic researcher to explore the world of business customers and generate insights that connect product experiences to business needs. Your focus will cover all aspects of customer research, from learning more about our customers types to uncovering problems that need to be solved to usability testing new designs. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand the decisions that need to be made and then conduct research projects to gather the correct data to help make those decisions.
Key job responsibilities
Plan and execute quantitative and qualitative research studies to shape business direction. That may include large-scale surveys, usability testing, or conducting interviews. Select the right methodology, while demonstrating good judgement in making trade-offs between speed and rigor.
Understand business needs and develop a research strategy and roadmap in partnership with design and product stakeholders.
Deliver findings that will directly address the business need, create actionable recommendations, and work with stakeholders to shape product roadmaps based on data.
Generate insights from business analytics, as well as customer feedback. Synthesize and triangulate data from various sources to deliver insights to the business. Know when enough data has been collected to answer the question.
Generate ideas on new or more efficient ways to answer questions that we have about customers.
Partner closely with product and business teams on the full product lifecycle (customer research, ideation, proposal, launch and post-launch analysis). Develop relationships and processes to connect decision-makers to customer needs. Collaborate with designers and product managers to solve problems with data.
Oversee research projects conducted by outside vendors.
Work across all of Amazon to drive better research practices and bring attention to business customers.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years in the field of research.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods and application in a business setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience conducting research that will be used for making strategic business decisions and new product development.
Ability to interpret and synthesize data and insights from multiple sources to provide actionable recommendations.
High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to identify and prioritize research questions from multiple stakeholders.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $226,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
