Amazon Sr. Program Manager, Small and Undiscovered Business Accelerator in Seattle, Washington

Description

The Small and Undiscovered Business Accelerator team helps drive the success of small businesses (including sellers, vendors, developers, authors, and delivery service providers) and underserved business populations (including minority-, women-, and veteran-owned businesses) through building products, features and programs that help more customers discover small businesses. We are seeking a high-judgment, business oriented, self-motivated professional to own strategy and execution of the back-end data collection tools that power our ability to enable customers to shop small and undiscovered business brands on Amazon, while also collaborating to define and providing input into the long-term strategic vision for data classification. This role will have a high degree of ownership for defining programs, products, and scalable solutions that raise the bar on identifying, selecting and auditing sellers that qualify for the our program. The role is inherently cross-functional – you will work closely with engineering, science & analytics, design, operations, finance, and executive teams across the business to identify and implement process improvement initiatives, and design and accelerate both new and existing programs at Amazon that support and amplify growth of small businesses, as part of ongoing efforts.

The ideal candidate thinks strategically, takes initiative, and dives deep into details. They can develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives but also roll up their sleeves, dig in and get the job done. Maturity, strong business judgment, ability to earn trust with engineering and influence cross-functional teams, a customer-centric and creative mindset and strong analytical skills are essential. The candidate for this position also embraces ambiguity, ramps quickly on complex issues, and is skilled at communicating complex issues simply and convincingly to a wide range of audiences. Ideally, this candidate will be comfortable working with large datasets, collaborating daily with technical peers, and able to distill complex problems into digestible information that allows for quick and informed decision making.

Key job responsibilities

• Owns program strategy and solutions as part of a dedicated team focused on driving the eligibility quality, and the growth of small business brands on Amazon, including through internal programs and services, as well as through partnerships with third party organizations (when applicable).

• Owns seller requests and escalation management for the Small Business program, including monitoring and making data driven decisions for Small Business badge eligibility

• Understanding customer (internal and external) needs, defining clear project plans and executing to high expectations in a fast-paced environment.

• Create, optimize, and drive adoption of critical mechanisms required to ensure long-term expansion and success

• Represents, verbally and in writing, complex decisions, tough trade-offs, and potential solutions clearly to leaders to help them understand the decisions they have to make and what options they have

• Drive cross-functional and cross-regional alignment to achieve strategic program goals

• Track and report program learnings and effectiveness to stakeholders

• Anticipating bottlenecks, providing escalation management, anticipating and making tradeoffs, and balancing business needs versus technical or operational constraints.

• Interacting with stakeholders at multiple levels and in multiple regions, and working with business, marketing, tech and analytics teams to define and deliver solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
