The Worldwide Retail Growth and Development team is responsible for the strategic planning, acquisition, design, construction, launch, and maintenance of Amazon Worldwide Grocery Stores' real estate assets. This includes Whole Foods Market, Amazon grocery stores, and industrial properties that fulfill online grocery orders.

WWRGD Retail Development Operations is looking for a Program Manager with design or construction experience to project manage our pipeline of new store launches and remodels. This role requires scoping and creating project plans for our stores, coordinating and driving execution of projects, proactively removing hurdles to project execution, and communicating across a variety of stakeholder teams.

Key job responsibilities

-Manage and drive continuous improvement of the pipeline management mechanism. Ensure the tools and mechanisms used meet the needs of Design, Construction, and downstream teams to keep projects on track

-Own cross-team coordination, project/process management and executive presentation. Ensure alignment with business stakeholders and internal teams such as Design, Construction, Finance, and Capital Planning

-Critically assess a project's critical path and manage date changes, accounting for design and construction timelines as well as business LRMs (such as store associate hiring, product inbounding) to facilitate successful store launch planning.

-Proactively remove launch blockers and work with partner teams such as Tech or 3P vendors to ensure work is completed on time

-Partner with other program managers to secure resources, scope efforts, set project priorities and milestones and drive delivery

-Establish and drive to meet operational goals and metrics for the portfolio

-Present operational metrics regularly to the leadership teams

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
