AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

AWS Support is seeking an experienced Sr. Program Manager where you will be surrounded by people that are smart, passionate about cloud computing, and who believe world class support services are critical to customer success. This role will have direct influence on how thousands of our Support Engineers and Associates interact with customers to solve for AWS customers’ complex Cloud Computing challenges and address key business challenges.

The Sr. Labs Program Manager is responsible for leading the analysis, design and development of relevant and high-quality training hands-on labs for technical and non-technical learning programs for our builders, customers and partners. This role focuses on managing hands-on labs programs for business-critical needs with a requirement for significant program and project management experience.

The Labs Training Program Manager may contribute to Learning Technology projects outside of labs.

This is a non-technical role and does not require software development experience. Additionally, it is not a training delivery role as it does not involve regular classroom delivery of training.

Key job responsibilities

• Manage labs program roadmap, project plans, and change management processes, including prioritization of labs development efforts in alignment with key business initiatives.

• Manage projects with cross-functional global teams to include Frontline Support operations teams, software development, and training teams.

• Create new processes, track and report on the progress of projects, train project team members, and coordinate program improvement projects.

• Manage project scope and accelerate progress, or operational efficiencies by driving crisp and timely decisions, identifying and clearing blockers, and escalating appropriately.

• Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks.

• Manage projects using agile development methodologies.

• Ensure sound communication between various groups and projects.

• Identify and communicate risks and adjustments to the overall program.

• Report progress to program stakeholders and leaders.

• Use the Learning Management System, AWS operational metrics/reports, and other data sources to analyze and report on labs program efficacy and impact.

• Identify and pursue opportunities for organizational efficiency by strategically partnering with colleagues across the team, company and external partners.

A day in the life

As a Sr. Labs Program Manager, you will manage the labs program roadmap, work with lab developers to ensure timely launch of new labs, provide reporting and analytics to measure the efficacy of the labs program, and drive the strategic direction of the labs program globally across AWS Support.

You will also play a significant role in managing a consistent and standardized process, both in executing the program as well as analyzing and reporting on key metrics and results. You will engage with labs product teams to influence product features and identify key improvements for the labs program.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
