Position Category: Operations, IT, & Support Engineering Job DescriptionThis is an amazing opportunity for lean six sigma leaders like yourself to deliver breakthrough innovations by re-designing and optimizing our next generation of fulfillment centers using advanced technology, automation, and robotics! * You will be an integral part of a team that is leading multiple initiatives, where each project can save us $150,000,000! * We expect over 1,000,000,000 (yes 1 billion) in savings over the next 3-5 years! * Your solutions will scale in mammoth proportions across all of Amazon - retrofitting hundreds of existing fulfillment centers and getting deployed in hundreds of new ones being built! To build next generation processes and fulfillment centers, you will own 'cradle to grave' specific processes and their redesign. You will drive deployment of lean solutions using several advanced technologies. With the goal to reduce over 1 billion dollars in variable costs in a global fulfillment network that has hundreds of fulfillment centers and moves 250 items a minute You'll identify gaps and develop optimization solutions around: * high speed, high volume automation * Outbound shipping and transportation * high speed robotics for pick and place * Inbound Supply chain * Improving Cycle time * Material flow * Quality, cost, and safety Performance Objectives will consist of: Designing systems that increase critical-to-quality (CTQ) business needs by improving integration of people, materials, equipment, software, and finance. Leveraging and integrating advanced technology into process design to maximize return on investment and minimize costs. Innovating and designing new or improved processes to support the business needs. Conducting detailed process analysis including time and motion studies and ergonomic assessments. Recommending and implementing changes to safety procedures, work methods, and labor standards based on these analyses. Project and Change management from conception to completion. Build and publish critical data for understanding areas of financial opportunity and continuous improvement activity results, analyze root causes of difficult problems using statistical tools, and support the creation of reports and executive level documents. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited university. Certification, training, or at least 7 years of Project Management experience. Ability to work with all levels of Associates and Managers and work effectively in a team environment. Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and MS Project) and AutoCAD. Ability to travel both domestically and internationally. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
