Amazon Sr. Manager, Launch, Global Retail Growth and Development in Seattle, Washington

Worldwide Retail Growth and Development (WWRGD) owns all Real Estate and Development activity across Worldwide Grocery. We are responsible for bringing brick & mortar physical retail experiences to our customers. We collaborate with Business Partners from Amazon Fresh, Amazon Go and Whole Foods Market, and support industrial programs that may operate within our Distribution Centers and/or outside of our physical retail spaces.

We are seeking a Sr. Launch Manager to lead a team responsible for delivering projects and initiatives for the business lines we support. The team supports both retail and industrial growth and development for Amazon Fresh Stores, Amazon Go, Whole Foods Market, Amazon Grocery Logistics and others. This role is ideal for individuals who excel at managing projects at scale and finding creative ways to remove blockers and minimize schedule risk. The individual must build strong relationships with partner teams and be able to effectively communicate the status of projects, risks, challenges and levers we can pull. As the leader of a newer team within the WWRGD organization, the role will require this person to Think Big about what this function can eventually be. Key job responsibilities

• Develop and execute project plans requiring involvement from a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

• Work with key stakeholders and business line partners to evolve team charter and roles and responsibilities.

• Drive the creation of effective cross-functional project management mechanisms and tracking to ensure projects are delivered on time/budget.

• Effectively communicate project status and risks with partner teams and executive leaders.

• Deep dive challenges and blockers to find solutions through outside-the box thinking.

• Develop Launch team members and manage workload balance and prioritization.

• Be intimately familiar with the status of all projects in-flight.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years’ experience in Real Estate and Development, Launch Management, Operations Management, or similar.

• 7+ years’ experience in the Retail and/or Industrial fields.

• 5+ years' direct management experience.

• Track record of delivering projects on time/budget and proven ability to remove blockers.

• Strong analytical ability and ability to dive deep to identify root causes.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to earn trust with partner teams and stakeholders.

• Ability to solve complex problems and a solutions-oriented mindset.

• High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of delivering cross functional projects experience

  • 5+ years of managing teams experience

  • 7+ years’ experience in Real Estate and Development, Launch Management, Operations Management, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of team management experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $121,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
