Amazon Sr. Financial Analyst, AWS, Global Services Deals Finance in Seattle, Washington

Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Sr. Financial Analyst to be a key member in our Global Services Deals Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the fastest growing divisions within Amazon. As a Finance Analyst, you will work closely with business leaders to develop financial models and analytical insights to assist in evaluating new business concepts, turning insights into operational measurements, and identifying paths to improve and scale the overall Global Services Deal development and approval process through automation. You will also provide modeling support to the Finance Manager and business partners.
The successful candidate will have shown experiences in past roles supporting strategic decision-making through analysis in a rapidly evolving environments. This role requires a self-starter with modeling skills, a strong attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects effectively. SQL skills a plus. This role also has regular interaction with various business units across Amazon and therefore requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, this role requires strong business sense and capability to drive business partnership.
Key job responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include: Providing financial deal support which includes deal modeling, forecasting and reporting. Expanding modeling and reporting automation to enable team ability to scale. Other areas of focus:
Execute financial framework and models for new business ideas
Provide strategic partnership to key business initiatives and investment
Present financial summary and business insights to Finance Manager and business partners
Ensure deals meet internal controls for deal pricing and investments
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
MBA, or CPA
Knowledge of Tableau
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
4+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
4+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
4+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience
Six Sigma Black Belt
Experience with advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence
Experience as a lean sensei, or experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
