Senior Director – Culture & Inclusion
As the Senior Director of Culture & Inclusion, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and promoting Nordstrom's values, beliefs, and commitment to service. You will work closely with senior leadership, HR, and various stakeholders to develop and implement comprehensive strategies that foster engagement, support our efforts to ensure every employee has equitable access to opportunity and enable our vision of helping our customers “feel good and look their best”.
Your efforts will ensure that Nordstrom's culture and values are consistently communicated, understood, and embraced throughout the company. You will also lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, create a positive workplace culture, and drive equitable business practices. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with key business leaders to support business strategy and plans.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies that promote a positive workplace culture and bring Nordstrom’s values, beliefs, history, and commitment to service to life through the employee experience, fostering a sense of belonging and engagement.
Lead efforts to ensure that Nordstrom’s values and cultural practices are consistently communicated, understood, and embraced throughout the company by embedding into day-to-day operations and communication.
Drive the enterprise diversity & inclusion multi-year strategy that aligns with the company’s values and business goals, serving as an organizational change agent who actively partners with executive leadership, defining and embedding appropriate initiatives as a key driver of sustained business results.
Partner across the organization to develop and implement practices that ensure equity in our policies and practices such as hiring, supplier/vendor programs, professional development, and employee listening programs.
Implement improvement processes that support the ongoing development and refinement of the company’s cultural practices, ensuring that they remain relevant and impactful. Play a leadership role in shaping both our internal and external narrative on culture and inclusion at Nordstrom.
Create KPIs and provide oversight of processes and procedures to regularly measure actions against outlined goals and objectives, ensuring connection to key business outcomes.
Serve as consultant and key partner to build organizational capability and drive large-scale, complex change and transformation.
Gain the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity. Maneuver comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics. Provide coaching and consulting to leaders on relevant issues and initiatives.
Stay informed about relevant trends and developments in the marketplace to effectively evaluate best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related field or equivalent experience.
15+ years leading teams focused on employee engagement, culture, talent management, DEIB, HR business partnership or related field.
Advanced program and project management skills, and ability to operationalize and scale programs. Experience effectively partnering with business teams to build effective programs and strategies
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively build and manage relationships with cross-functional colleagues and business leaders across multiple functions
Strong presentation skills and ability to confidently interact with Nordstrom Executive Team and Board
A highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals to engage team, peers, and leadership
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decision-making.
Ability to influence a broad group of stakeholders, partners, and senior leaders without direct authority – a team-oriented consensus builder who understands how to achieve buy-in from different leaders, builds bridges, and designs “win-win” solutions across a large, matrixed organization

Pay Range Details
The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Washington: $180,000-$290,000 annually
This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
