SMB Marketing Analytics team supports SMB Marketing team in delivering highly relevant and personalized marketing content to majority of current and prospective advertisers. In this role, you will work with 10+ highly motivated team-members and will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining data infrastructure, creating automated reporting and dashboards, designing and measuring experiments, and executing complex analysis to support business functions.

In this role you will:

-Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, APIs, dashboards, etc. that will support our business needs.

-Partner with operations/business/science/tech teams to consult, develop and implement KPIs, automated reporting/process solutions, and data infrastructure improvements to meet business needs.

-Help drive new initiatives and data integration projects and apply your deep analytic and business intelligence skills to extract meaningful insight and learning from large and complicated data sets.

-Serve as liaison between the business and product/science teams to prototype new marketing solutions and perform ad hoc investigations into future improvements or innovations. This will require data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the design, development, and maintenance of datasets, ongoing metrics, analyses and dashboards to drive key business decisions.

  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting.

  • Continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service support for customers.

  • Use analytical and statistical rigor to identify performance gaps and opportunities for optimization.

  • Build data infrastructure in collaboration with partner tech-teams to facilitate scaling-up various marketing initiatives.

  • Support central BI team in reporting on global marketing efforts.

  • Promote best practices in ETL and mentor your team.

  • Use technical expertise to suggest ways to improve processes and incorporate operational excellence best practices

  • Use analytical and statistical rigor to answer business questions and drive business decisions

  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, design, analysis, validation, and documentation

  • Improve the Knowledge management environment by providing guidance in technical documentation

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional or military experience

  • 5+ years of SQL experience

  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

  • Experience with AWS technologies

  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

  • Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
