The Amazon Appstore is looking for a technically savvy and seasoned Business Development Manager to help us meet our ambitious content acquisition goals. This Senior Manager will become a subject matter expert and drive execution of our strategy to recruit Entertainment, Sports and News content for all devices and innovate with the customers experience to define the next generation of Apps. Role Responsibilities As the Business Development Manager you will: * Create a content acquisition strategy appropriate for your assigned app categories * Prospect, recruit, and maintain relationships with targeted app developers across multiple content categories. * Communicate recruiting progress and escalate blocking issues to Amazon.com executives * Work with cross-functional teams to enable successful recruiting and onboarding of third party developers to innovate new ways to grow their distribution and audience on Amazon. * Serve as a key member of the Appstore Selection Business Development team in helping define and deliver the overall strategy to support top tier developers and content publishers. * Help define and update the mission, goals, and success metrics for Appstore's Business Development group and ensure it's in line with the product and app distribution strategy. * Work with the business development team and senior leadership to create a prioritized, tactical action plan to exceed goals * Independently execute plans while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. service teams, legal, support, etc.) * Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks of the tools and services in the portfolio * Independently manage complex contract negotiations, working with senior executives inside and outside of Amazon * Research and identify new opportunities to support video content publishers Basic Qualifications 5+ years of experience in streaming video or apps in the Entertainment, Sports or News categories, including working with third party developers, broadcasters, partner program development, business development or consulting 3+ Experience building and maintaining high-level, technical and business partner relationships and developing channel programs 3+ Experience working within the app industry for TV or tablet with a focus on video Bachelor's degree or equivilent Preferred Qualifications Consistently exceeds quota and key performance metrics Demonstrated ability to engage and influence across various organizational groups Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences MBA or equivalent relevant business experience Amazon is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Minority / Women / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation Amazon is an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer – Minority / Female / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation
