Job Description

We currently have a career opportunity at Sound Transit Security Operations Center Dispatchers.

Team members will receive $500 sign-on distributions after 90, 150, 210 and 270 days *Must meet requirements*

Shift Expectations:

12-hour shifts

A-Side / B-Side Scheduling with a rotating schedule. 4 days on, 3 days off one week. 3 days on, 4 days off the following week.

Ability to cover static or mobile in the field shifts as needed

You will:

Receive excellent hands-on training in the use of CCTV, Dispatching, and required computer systems as well as in hand on tactics such as handcuffing, baton, OC, defensive tactics and CPR/First Aid. This is an exciting opportunity if you are looking for stability, experience, and career growth.

Responsibilities:

Receives and responds to emergency and non-emergency calls from the public, system dispatchers, employees, customer and law enforcement agencies via telephone, radio systems, direct observations, and email.

Monitor CCTV systems for multiple locations

Maintain status and locations of security personnel

Dispatch field personnel to respond to various incidents including alarm response, disturbances, and client requests.

Utilize computers, radio systems, telephones, fax machines and other communication equipment

Ability to self-manage/organize/prioritize

Quickly trouble shoot, and problem solve

Perform clerical duties, detailed record keeping, document all information into the dispatch computer daily activity log.

Maintain appropriate security and confidentiality of information created or encountered in the performance of assigned duties

Maintain site security, and watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards

Prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities, often using CCTV Systems.

Build and maintain positive relationships within the community, protect the well-established reputation of Sound Transit.

Display a professional demeanor, appearance, integrity, with attention to detail

Assist first responders when appropriate

Additional duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Be organized with strong attention to detail

Flexible working schedule to include night and weekends

Pass pre-employment drug testing (This will include THC)

Must be willing to work flexible schedule weekend, holidays, days, or night

Preferred 2 years of dispatch, military, security, law enforcement, corrections, fire, EMS, customer service or relevant college degree in the field

Must be willing to attend mandatory training for a designated period. Training will be paid at minimum wage.

Must pass a background check

Genuine desire and interest in the security industry

Ability to sit or stand 100% of shift

Reliable transportation

Great communication/writing skills

Ability to obtain a Washington State Security License

21 years of age and older
