Blue Origin LLC Software Supplier Quality Engineer in Seattle, Washington

This team is focused on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin's design, manufacturing, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health, and safety, product integrity, and continuous improvement processes. As part of a diverse and hardworking team of software specialists and engineers, you will ensure the Software Quality for various spaceflight systems. You will report to the Senior Manager of Program Quality, and assure the successful execution of software development plans that support compliance with internal processes and customer requirements; approve software configurations for safety critical functions; and collaborate on process improvement initiatives for various spaceflight systems. You must have a passion for solving complex problems and providing operable solutions; act with minimal direction and on your own initiative; and be adaptable as you will work on a variety of applications and systems. Responsibilities: Software Supplier Management: Overseeing the selection, assessment, and management of software suppliers. Ensuring they meet quality and compliance standards, such as AS9115 and DO-178C, and are capable of meeting the specific requirements of safety-critical software. AS9115 Auditing: Conducting assessments and audits of software suppliers to verify compliance with AS9115 requirements and identifying areas for improvement. Oversight and Compliance: Providing oversight, support, and guidance to software suppliers to ensure adherence to industry-specific and NASA requirements, as well as the contract specifications related to software development and delivery. Supplier Onboarding: Collaborating with procurement and software suppliers during the onboarding process. Ensuring that suppliers are aware of and prepared for requirements that are applicable to the software they will be developing and supplying. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records, documentation, and reports related to supplier evaluations, audits, compliance, and performance. Risk Management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with software supplier quality and compliance. Implementing measures to address any identified non-conformities or deviations from required standards. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with internal teams, procurement staff, and software suppliers to ensure effective communication, alignment of expectations, and successful outcomes. This role may also involve fostering a productive working relationship between all parties involved. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Qualifications: 3+ years industry experience in software engineering field with at least 2 years in a software quality engineer role. Familiarity with Software quality assurance standards (RTCA/DO-178C, RTCA/DO-254, AS9115, CMMI). Familiarity with, AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Desired: Bachelor's degree in engineering or science discipline. 2+
