TITLE: Software Engineer
EMPLOYER: Stripe, Inc.
DUTIES: Build large-scale (petabyte-size) financial data platform/solution/pipelines using Big Data technologies; Work cross-functionally with many teams: Engineering, Treasury, Finance, Accounting, etc; Work on systems critical to Stripe's future operation, with impact over billions of dollars of payments volume; Build software infrastructure, including developing, testing, and deploying it; Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation; Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack; Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints; Build new systems to securely store sensitive data; Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
LOCATION: Seattle, WA (and various unanticipated work locations across the U.S.)
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related and 1 year of software development experience.
Position requires the following:
1 year of experience building big data solutions using large data analytics engine, such as BigQuery or Spark;
1 year of experience building systems to enable business needs using computer languages like Scala or Java;
1 year of experience conducting data analytics on business and operations insights via SQL-like queries;
1 year of experience analyzing and optimizing system performance based on distributed system domain knowledge.
SALARY: $163,407 - $173,407/year and standard employee benefits.
