Summary:

We are looking for a Software Engineer (specialized in Speech and Language) to join the Meta AI Speech team. The AI Speech team creates spoken language technology to make it faster and easier for people to build community and connect with others around the world. Our mission is to conduct product-motivated research in ML/AI and design, develop and deploy state of the art algorithms to the rest of Meta. We work in all aspects of AI for speech and audio processing, including speech recognition, speech synthesis, speaker identification, keyword spotting, and acoustic event detection. Our work is largely focused on the areas of voice interfaces, including speech technologies for RayBan Stories, Portal devices, Oculus VR headsets, Augmented Reality, the Metaverse, and video understanding, including transcription, captioning, and content understanding.We are looking for a software engineer, who has experience in Speech and Language processing. The ideal candidate should have relevant industry experience in automatic speech recognition, end-to-end ASR, language modeling, large language models (LLMs), machine learning, and/or related areas, and have a passion for speech technology and voice interfaces.

Required Skills:

Software Engineer, Language - Speech Recognition Responsibilities:

1. Apply relevant AI and machine learning techniques to build voice interfaces and technology that improve Meta products and experiences

2. Develop novel, accurate AI algorithms and advanced systems for large scale applications

3. Directly contribute to experiments, including designing experimental details, writing reusable code, running evaluations, and organizing results.

4. Work with large data, and develop machine learning models for both server-based and/or on-device systems.

5. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

6. Experience in one or more of the following areas: automatic speech recognition, language modeling, LLMs, machine learning, deep learning, or related fields.

7. Experience developing machine learning algorithms or machine learning infrastructure in C/C++ or Python

8. A MSc or PhD in Artificial Intelligence (AI), computer science, or related technical fields.

9. Experience with large scale model training, implementing algorithms, and evaluating systems for both server side and on-device solutions.

$177,008/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
