Description

Amazon Advertising is working to grow our network of Software Development Managers to invent and design innovative software solutions for complex problem areas and opportunities across our suite of Ad products.

Amazon Advertising operates at the intersection of eCommerce and advertising, offering a rich array of digital display advertising solutions with the goal of helping our customers find and discover anything they want to buy. We help advertisers of all types reach Amazon customers on Amazon.com, across our other owned and operated sites, on other high-quality sites across the web, and on millions of mobile devices.

Key job responsibilities

• Lead a team of Software Development Engineers (SDEs).

• Own the critical technologies of this core service, own engineering vision for your team, contribute to overall product vision.

• Define the technological roadmap by partnering with peer SDMs and sister teams.

• Maintain a high bar for operational excellence.

• Drive a welcoming, hardworking, and well-balanced team culture.

• Coach engineers and help them achieve career progression goals.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 5+ years of engineering experience

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

Preferred Qualifications

- - Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

- - Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
