Amazon Software Development Manager, Paragon Customer Relationship Management team in Seattle, Washington

We are looking for a tech-savvy software development manager, who thrives in thinking big and defining charter for a new charter. Paragon is evolving to enter into customer relationship management space, unlocking a new segment of customers. Additionally, the role requires someone who excels at setting up a high performing team, working in an agile environment, and are excited about our mission. They must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be self-driven and deliver high quality results in a fast paced environment.

Key job responsibilities

  • Defining charter for customer relationship management space working with both customers, product managers and other stakeholders

  • Develop monthly, quarterly and yearly strategy and roadmaps for the team based on project priorities and project benefit.

  • Build & manage a high performing team consisting of SDEs and related job functions.

  • Manage, execute and communicate project plans and delivery commitments.

A day in the life

  • Partner with customers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define the roadmap for the space.

  • Work with Sr. SDEs and PEs to execute the roadmap.

  • Maintain a culture of great operational and engineering excellence

About the team

Paragon Customer Relationship Management (CRM) is a new team to enable the Paragon product venture into the CRM space. Our vision is to provide platform capabilities for teams across Amazon that require CRM solutions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
