Job summary

We’re a brand new AWS service that will help AWS customers securely share data at scale. This opportunity will let you to Think Big and innovate on behalf of customers in a start-up like environment.

We are looking for innovative leaders with a passion for solving challenging problems to join the team and help launch a brand new AWS service. As a Software Development Manager, you will work closely with product managers to define the service and lead a team of software engineers to architect and implement the service. You will own solutions at AWS scale, resolve customer challenges, and help maintain and enhance the operational excellence that creates loyal AWS customers. As a leader of this team you will be given the opportunity to make fundamental contributions to the development of a brand new AWS service while growing your own professional skills.

Once launched, this service will involve periodic on-call responsibilities. We don’t like getting paged, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant. When we do get paged, we work as a team to resolve the root cause to ensure we’re not paged for the same issue twice.

This is a full-time position and is based in our New York, NY office located in the heart of Manhattan with easy access to all forms of public transportation.


  • 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams

  • Experience partnering with product OR program management teams

  • 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers

  • 3+ years of experience architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems


  • excellent problem solving skills

  • good communication skills
