Amazon Software Development Manager, Easy Ship in Seattle, Washington

Description

The International Seller Fulfillment Technologies team is looking for a technology leader to define, organize and lead high-performing teams across Amazon in delivering projects for our expanding cross border e-commerce footprint. You will be part of a key Delivery Experience initiative – “Easyship” which enables 3P sellers to ship products with Amazon. Amazon Easy Ship program caters to merchant fulfillment network sellers with the goal of making it easy for sellers to ship products bought on Amazon retail website. Orders are picked up from the seller’s location by an Amazon Logistics associate and delivered to the buyers’ location with minimal effort from sellers. Customers get faster and predictable delivery along with tracking information. We own the platform that drive the above experience across desktop, mobile and APIs (for large sellers).

Candidates for this position would thrive in a fast-paced environment, understand the software development projects and operations space, and will help us build high quality applications, implement them and minimize the operations required to keep them running on a high demand environment. As the development manager, you will have technical ownership of the services you create. You'll lead a talented and nimble team which will encompass the direct management of 8+ engineers, process and quality of service improvements, strategic planning, project management for software within the team, and management of resources across teams. Successful candidates will be strong leaders who can prioritize well, communicate clearly, and have a consistent track record of delivery.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 7+ years of engineering experience

  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
