Softlines Discovery is chartered with making Amazon Fashion an easy and intuitive place to discover the most relevant and high-quality brands and products based on a customer’s search query, in the US and EU5. Within Softlines Discovery, the Marca team's mission is to develop machine learning solutions for brands on Amazon. We build ML models and large-scale infrastructure to host our models and support a range of brand-related decision-making at Amazon. We are looking for a passionate and innovative Software Development Engineer who loves solving hard problems and is excited about working on an ML-centric team. We are looking for individuals who can thrive in a work environment where we quickly deliver innovative features on behalf of our customers. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define our core system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.

Job responsibilities

As a member of our team, you will be:

  • Significantly influencing our overall strategy by driving the system architecture and spearheading the best practices that enable a quality product.

  • Working on the core engineering infrastructure to support a large-scale machine learning model integrated into various complex downstream production systems.

  • Using cutting edge technologies, including machine learning, to process various data sources to improve our machine learning models.

  • Working with a group of top-notch software developers and applied scientists, and seasoned product managers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
