As an engineer on the team, you will play an key role in design and implementation of product features from beginning to end. You will:Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutionsUse software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team deliverablesWrite high quality distributed system softwareWork in an agile, startup-like development environment, where you are always working on the most important stuff.The ideal candidate is passionate about new opportunities and has a demonstrable track record of success in delivering new features and products. This person has thrived and succeeded in delivering high quality technology products/services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast.1+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.2+ years of non-internship professional software development experienceProgramming experience with at least one software programming language.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field3 + years of experience building production software systems2+ years of experience in distributed system design and algorithmsKnowledge of software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsComputer Science fundamentals experience in data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysisExperience with the tools of the trade including a variety of modern programming languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Objective C, Python) and open-source technologies (Linux, SQLite, OpenGL, Spring, Hibernate)Bachelor's degree in computer science related fields OR 3+ years equivalent experience in software developmentStrong, object-oriented design and coding skills (C/C++ and/or Java preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform)Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databasesKnowledge of software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsAbility to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutionsDeal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractlyPrevious technical internship(s) preferredAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
