Amazon Software Development Engineer - Amazon Just Walk Out in Seattle, Washington

Description

AWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) provides horizontal and industry vertical applications for business users with the same on-demand scalability, reliability, pay-as-you-go pricing, and machine learning expertise that drive AWS services. The AWS Applications group includes services such as Amazon Connect (a cost-effective cloud contact center), our End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces, AppStream, etc.), Marketing Tech (Amazon Pinpoint), and Autonomous Checkout and Identity Services (Just Walk Out, Amazon One) for retail, sports, travel, and other verticals.

Just Walk Out is a revolutionary retail technology that enables a seamless, checkout-free shopping experience for customers. Designed and built by Amazonians, the Just Walk Out system allows shoppers to simply walk into a store, select the items they want, and walk out without having to wait in line or go through a traditional checkout process. The technology uses a combination of sensors, computer vision, and machine learning algorithms to automatically detect when products are taken from or returned to the shelves, and to charge customers' accounts accordingly. By eliminating the friction of checkout, Just Walk Out empowers retailers to provide their customers with a faster, more convenient, and more enjoyable shopping journey. The technology has been deployed in a variety of retail environments, from grocery and convenience stores to sports arenas and airport shops, helping businesses boost customer satisfaction, increase sales, and optimize operations. This technology also powers Amazon branded brick-and-mortar stores, such as Amazon Go stores and Amazon Fresh stores. As consumer expectations for a frictionless shopping experience continue to rise, Just Walk Out is at the forefront of redefining the future of retail.
