Amazon's Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) Team mission is to build the world’s best Artificial General Intelligence that will enable Amazon businesses to deliver more value to its customers and benefits humanity. We own the runtime inference for automatic speech recognition (ASR) within the AGI org. We are looking for passionate, talented, and inventive SDEII to contribute to the development of industry-leading technology pushing the envelope in ASR for innovative, mission critical, high volume applications. Key job responsibilities

• Responsible for the development and maintenance of key system features

• Will work with other team members - scientists and engineers to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility.

• Will work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality software against aggressive schedules.

• Will establish architectural principles, select design patterns and then mentor team members on their appropriate application

A day in the life

An SDE in the team will join a multidisciplinary team of kind, authentic, helpful software engineers and scientists to push the frontiers of speech recognition as well solve challenging problems of mission critical, large scale distributed systems. You will write high quality and complex code on a tier-1 code path which directly impacts customers.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
