We're looking for a talented Software Development Engineer to join our team in Amazon Advertising, where we're revolutionizing the way ads are experienced on Amazon. As a key member of our team, you'll help design and develop scalable, high-performance ad formats that drive business growth and delight customers. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX designer and Amazon Retail partners, to create ad formats that seamlessly integrate into our customers' shopping experiences.

You'll work on the full stack of our ad formats, from building engaging and interactive front-end experiences to developing robust and efficient rendering services. You'll develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and efficient software systems that meet our business needs, and analyze data to continuously improve our ad formats and customer experience. Key job responsibilities

• Collaborating closely with UX designers, product managers, and partner teams to ensure seamless integration of ad formats into customer experiences

• Designing and executing A/B tests and experimentation, analyzing results using engagement metrics and business metrics to inform data-driven decisions

• Crafting innovative and engaging front-end ad experiences that leverage cutting-edge technologies

• Building low-latency, high-throughput rendering service components that meet our business needs

• Monitoring operational dashboards and metrics to ensure systems are running smoothly and efficiently

• Participating in code reviews, reviewing peers' code, and providing constructive feedback to improve overall code quality

• Attending and hosting design reviews, providing feedback to peers and collaborating on design decisions

• Mentoring and coaching junior engineers, sharing knowledge and expertise to help them grow

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

• Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
