Marketo is seeking a back-end focused Software Engineer to join our Customer Engineering Team (CET). We're a team of innovative problem-solvers with a passion for helping our customers achieve their business goals. As advocates for some of our largest customers, we are in a unique position to both develop our own solutions and assist other component teams in delivering quality features across the platform to support our highest-scale needs. Work with highly-available data streams, RESTful APIs and both internal and external interfaces that support and empower our users. Learn to anticipate our customer's needs through a suite of powerful monitoring tools and the support of your peers. Participate in cross-cutting platform investigations and find ways to unlock new levels of performance. While currently remote, this position will move to a hybrid, in-office position as Adobe forms its future work vision. The core team is in Portland, OR while other associated teams are in Seattle, WA, and San Jose, CA. What you'll do Collaborate and solution with some of our biggest customers Work with data streams and APIs to provide enhanced automation capabilities Develop tools to alleviate support bottlenecks Proactively monitor for improvement opportunities Enhance scalability and performance across the platform What you have 1+ years working in SaaS platforms & technologies An emphasis on back-end development (Java or PHP preferred) All the web basics covered - DOM, HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript Comfort working with SQL or NoSQL data stores (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB) Experience with Docker or other container orchestration systems Excellent communication skills and an eagerness to collaborate! Bonus Points Experience with RESTful APIs or microservices Familiarity with Scrum / Agile Methodologies Functional understanding of version control systems (Git / SVN) Practical exposure to APM and monitoring tools (New Relic, Wavefront, Vivid Cortex) We're on a mission to hire the very best and building exceptional employee experiences where everyone is respected and has access to equal opportunity. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets.
