Job summary

Amazon SageMaker Insights team is looking for experienced software development managers to lead a new initiative to build advances analytical and reporting capabilities. Our vision is to build the best in class customer analytics and insights system to enable improvement in the SageMaker user experience and to drive clear product enhancement decisions. If you love building solutions to empower data based decision making and have experience building large scale Analytical systems, then this is the perfect role for you. This is team will be an integral part in evolving the SageMaker customer experience and overall product evaluation. As a part of the SageMaker AI/ML organization, this team also provides and opportunity to learn more about the AI/ML solution space and to drive initiatives which will make SageMaker the preferred solution for our Customers.

As an engineering leader, you will own building the data logging, warehousing and analytical framework for all of SageMaker. You will be responsible for hiring and leading a team of strong engineers, Business intelligence engineers and data engineers. You will work with customers and other leaders to define our long-term strategies. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing distributed systems, data-warehousing and analytical systems and passion for driving adoption of data driven decision making and product design.

Amazon SageMaker is a fully managed Machine Learning platform that makes it easy to build ML models, manage them, and integrate them with custom applications for online predictions. SageMaker takes away the heavy-lifting normally associated with large-scale Machine Learning implementations, so that developers and scientists can focus on the truly creative work of modeling and solving the business problem at hand.

Key job responsibilities

• Responsible for the over-all Framework, Design and Implementation of Data Logging , Data Warehousing and Analytics and Reporting solution.

• Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments; Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment

• Hire, develop and manage best-of-class engineering team, business intelligence engineers and data engineers.

• Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach.

• Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management.

• Partner with Product Management teams to drive better Customer engagement and product roadmap.

  • 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams

  • Experience partnering with product OR program management teams

  • 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers

  • 3+ years of experience architecting and designing (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems


Experience with large scale distributed systems

· Experience building and operating end top end data warehousing and analytical systems.

· Experience with Machine Learning

· Experience building tools for Customer behavior analytics

· Experience in preparing quality metrics and effectively engaging with stakeholders to set and drive quality goals
