As a Flight Software Manager on Lunar Transportation, you will report to the Senior Flight Software Manager on Lunar Transportation and directly support program execution. The products developed provide Lunar Transportation lander vehicles with Software products to enable unprecedented crew and mass to surface capabilities. This position will support all aspects of product team management to include accountability and oversight of cost, schedule, technical design, risk management and personnel management. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedication and attention towards safe and reliable spaceflight. Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to: Responsible and accountable for advising the technical team to develop and deliver flight software products that meets mission objectives and satisfy requirements while balancing cost, schedule, and risk. Assist in product portfolio definition, specification, and statement of work, creation, planning, and tracking of the Results to satisfy that scope. Recruit, hire, manage, and mentor a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team. Lead your direct reports' professional development (e.g., performance evaluations, compensation and promotion management, routine one-on-one development conversations) and mentor them on performance. Develop and lead robust plans to meet goals to the key operating metrics - including technical, cost, schedule, and risk - reporting regularly to management and the team on progress. Perform technical work and provide technical leadership of the highest caliber. Supervise technical progress, requirements, budget, schedule, goals, and risks as well as review recommendations for change with program management. Coordinate with SIL and Verification manager to ensure verification plans meet system safety requirements. Provide resources to the verification team following development. Apply good engineering and business judgement to ensure the most efficient and effective product is crafted, tested, and delivered. Develop product roadmaps, working with internal and external customers to understand how your product integrates to meet current and future mission needs. Work independently toward long-range objectives without appreciable direction and resolve technical objectives of assignments to develop approaches to solutions. Embody, promote, and mentor the Blue Origin leadership principles. Minimum Qualifications 1+ years leading technical teams and/or running functional groups with responsibility for leading and mentoring employees. Experience leading multidisciplinary development projects, including handling requirements, priorities, scope, schedule, and cost. Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications Experience with human rated space vehicle flight software development and verification. Experience with DO-178C and safety critical applications. Familiar with agile project management. Experience with critical path scheduling, IMP/IMS, risk management, requirements management and Cost Account Management such as EVM.
