Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a talented and passionate Senior User Researcher to join our growing AWS User Research Team to work with the Machine Learning and AI education devices team, which focuses on the AWS goal of 'Putting Machine Learning in the Hands of Every Developer'.To date the Machine Learning and AI education devices team has released devices to support developers learn different Deep Machine Learning techniques through hands-on learning with DeepRacer, DeepComposer and DeepLens. What device will come next to help support developers learn ML and AI in a fun and informative way? Our business is growing fast and our people will grow with it.RESPONSIBILITIESThis User Researcher is responsible for insuring the Machine Learning/AI education devices team stays customer obsessed and delivers on its promise to educate developers in fun and supportive ways so they can develop ML/AI skills. The User Researcher will collaborate closely with product managers, design and development to deliver on the ML/AI education devices mission. Leveraging user research methods and best practices the User Researcher's contribution to the team will be critical to drive a customer-centric approach that will lead to identifying new opportunities for the team. The User Researcher should be familiar with building strong relationships with development teams, and identifying the most important research questions, and then applying a variety of research methods to find the answers and to drive impact. This position requires the User Researcher to use both strategic and tactical skills to influence and impact the development process.The User Researcher will be expected to:* Be a strong team player that operates as a peer to product management and design in defining the customer-centric approach to product development.* Determine the best research approach to inform product development which could be a mix of quantitative, qualitative and participatory design methods.* Effectively translate data and insights into strategy and design direction.* Continually learn, grow, and improve the craft of UX research.Basic Qualifications* 5+ years proven success leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact.* Portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., study plans, reports, personas).* 5+ years of experience managing all stages of research design (study design, test creation, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting).* 5+ years of experience with research method including: field research, usability, focus groups, survey design, and data analysis including statistical measures.* BS in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Human Computer Design Engineering or related disciplineAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
