Main Purpose of Job

Lead the Technical Applications Group (TAG) organization at a tempo that sets us apart from our competitors by delivering the TAG Strategy through charter execution and business critical I&R needs through project management and/or product development. You will deliver Innovation & Renovation projects in NUSA by leading cross-functional project teams with an entrepreneurial mindset and passion for operational excellence to drive direct impact on the business portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities:

Project Management: Strategic Initiatives and I&R

  • Within the TAG strategy, lead the alignment of a charter to the strategy, engage key stakeholders in decision making/escalations and responsible for initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing the project with key stakeholders.

  • Preventive management of roadblocks and generation of risk mitigation plans.

  • Build and manage the project schedule, define the critical path, track activities to ensure functional team members are meeting agreed-upon deadlines, generate and communicate status reports, and escalate critical issues.

  • Responsible for the consistent application, execution, and continuous improvement of Nestlé's I&R processes and tools.

  • Meet established key performance indicators (KPIs) and other program metrics.

  • Responsible for identifying and ensuring the implementation of process improvements with the awareness of how decisions impact the entire ecosystem.

  • Comfortable leading discussions and communicating regularly with senior leadership on project status and escalations.

  • Embrace details and ambiguity while keeping a general view to reduce complexity and to strive for rapid but informed management decisions.

Technical lead: Strategic Initiative and I&R

  • Lead on highly complex projects to identify solutions, deliver innovation and renovation portfolio, and optimization/improvement projects. Partner with Marketing to leverage and translate consumer insight into project pipelines. Represent Technical Application Group as subject matter expert for product/packaging/process to transfer knowledge to the factories. Train and coach to contribute to the success of the Technical Application Group. Collaborate internally and externally to build relationships in order to continuously improve technical skills and personal development, including coaching others to facilitate their professional development.

  • Implementation of Innovation & Renovation strategy for the supported product categories in the market. Liaise & leverage industry and global Nestle Network (e.g. R&D & Procurement) insights to develop, implement, and execute creative product/packaging/process development activities (e.g. mockup, bench top, pilot plant, distribution testing, and internal/external factory testing) to achieve project goals and deadlines to delight the consumer & customer.

  • Introduction of new product, packaging, and processes within factories and external manufacturers. Collaborate and influence internal and external project teams (Teams are made up of PTC, Product Developers, Project Managers, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, Packaging, Factories, Marketing, Co-Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Supply Chain, etc.) to develop, industrialize, and launch on a complex range of Innovation and Renovation projects.

  • Ensure adherence to all product/packaging/process standards. Comply with Nestlé requirements (includes Nutritional requirements, Sustainability, Packaging Safety), external standards, and local regulatory framework. Identify, influence, and lead the development of market level product/packaging/process standards within the Nestlé systems.

  • Continuous improvement of technical skills and personal development, while being a proactive affiliate member of a Nestlé Expert Network and/or external networks. Provide coaching & mentorship to others to facilitate personal professional development.

  • Develop expertise for product/packaging/process mastership within TAG Define, develop, and coach the competencies and training materials required for product/packaging/process mastership to enable manufacturing excellence. Provide guidance and input to Operations for Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications

Requirements & Minimum Education Level

• A BS or MS degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field or equivalent practical experience.

• PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification preferred

Experience

  • 5+ years experience in project management or product development.

  • 7+ cross-functional experience preferred. Such as Engineering, Operations, Technical Applications Group, Research & Development, Marketing or related experience preferred

  • Prior CPG experience preferred
