This role is a part of Test & Flight Operations team, providing centralized support to Business Units with the focus on design, build and maintenance of the ground systems, test and launch facilities across multiple locations. As part of a small, hardworking, and accomplished team of Mission Systems and Flight Operations Engineers, you will work closely with space vehicle and ground subsystem teams, leading and performing tasks throughout the full system lifecycle. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the mission operations concept, mission analysis and planning, flight planning, ground data systems, and tools used to operate advanced spaceflight vehicles. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead test architecture definition and execution within an integrated cloud infrastructure for a mission operations ground system. Work with customers to understand requirements and iteratively design and develop applications and systems to meet system and software integration and test needs. Set up and maintain a cloud-based infrastructure-as-code development, DevOps automation and CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing. Support with the Hardware Integration Lab and Software Integration Lab integration of flight avionics hardware and software. Diagnose and fix software problems at multiple levels, including installation, deployment, configuration, server side and client-side issues. Minimum Qualifications: 15+ years of proven experience in software development and test Strong and active development skills in C / C++ and Python Experience integrating with software simulation environments to support ground system software testing Experience with functional and regression testing of client/server applications, web applications and native applications. Ability to solve problems by writing efficient working code, even when given incomplete or ambiguous requirements. B.S. in computer science, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related technical field Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: 8+ years industry experience on large engineering systems Experience with automation testing frameworks (i.e. Cucumber, Selenium, Cypress, Postman) Experience writing software that efficiently handles the production, distribution and storage of large data sets. Strong debugging skills at the software/hardware boundary, and familiarity with software verification approaches Experience developing, verifying, certifying and releasing mission and safety-critical software systems. Experience with mission operations and ground data systems Experience with tools such as DOORs Next Generation (DNG), Gitlab, SVN, Docker, Jenkins, Docker Compose, Packer, Kubernetes, Ansible M.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
