Amazon Corporate LLC Senior Software Development Engineer in Seattle, Washington

The AWS Forecasting Platform (AFP) team is looking for a Software Development Engineer to join our seven-person team.Our team owns a platform that facilitates the capacity forecasting and planning for the Cloud helping to drive utilization improvements for AWS services, where each 1% means millions of additional free cash flow. We provide a friendly development environment for our research scientists and software engineers to develop, test, and run data processors and forecasting models, written in any programming language and deployed using Docker containers. On any given day, we use Java, Python, JavaScript, R, React, DynamoDB, and CloudFormation, as well as other public AWS services and a number of internal tools. We don't expect you to be an expert in, or necessarily even be familiar with, all of the technologies listed above, but we do expect you to be excited to learn about them!Work/Life HarmonyOur team puts a high value on work-life balance. Due to Covid-19 situation, our team currently works from home. We generally keep core working hours from 10am to 5pm. About half of us starts the day earlier and the other half of us stay later.On-Call ResponsibilityThis position involves on-call responsibilities. We don't like getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant.
