Description

We are seeking a Senior Sales Operation Lead to partner with the internal Generative AI Go To Market (GTM) Leadership team and extended Sales and Business Operations organization, to drive optimization and dive deep into key Generative AI business initiatives, reporting to the Senior Sales Operations Manager. You will have strong organizational, project management, communication and analytical skills. Attention to detail, ability to work independently in a highly ambiguous and fast paced environment, a start-up mindset, and willingness to be hands-on are essential per-requisites to succeed in this role.

You will be a self-starter with a bias towards independent problem solving, a passion for identifying and eliminating bottlenecks, and have the foresight to anticipate business needs, make trade-offs, and balance business dynamics despite constraints.

The ideal candidate has broad technical skills, strong financial acumen, sales strategy experience, a natural curiosity, and a deep analytical background. Strong judgement, ability to manage and prioritize in a complex and ambiguous environment, as well as a demonstrated ability to influence without explicit authority are key to success.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own the business reviews and deep dives to effectively inspect the business across the various functions within Generative AI Sales and Business Operations, including both Go to Market and Technical internal customers.

  • Develop Go to Market (GTM) pipeline and forecast models, create measurement and tracking mechanisms to continually improve accuracy and deliver actionable insights to both deliver for our customers and influence GTM planning.

  • Drive the continuous improvement of key processes and mechanisms used in the Sales and Business & Operations team, improving productivity and efficiency.

  • Lead special projects impacting Generative AI Sales and Business Operations functional areas across the World Wide Specialist Organization, and AWS, as a whole.

A day in the life

This highly visible role will work closely with the Generative AI business leaders and cross functionally with other leaders of operations teams to provide strategic business insights and support business growth and operational excellence. You will design, implement, and continuously improve processes and prioritize critical Generative AI business initiatives, while meeting requirements from different stakeholders. The ability to comprehend both quantitative and qualitative data points, connect the dots, apply high judgement, and create executive-level content is critical for success in this role.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the areas of sales planning/strategy, and/or sales operations, finance, business development, business management, in mid-to-large scale global sales organization

  • SFDC, Tableau, Excel, Smartsheet experience

  • Experience within a global technology or management consulting firm, and experience engaging with senior executives and with decision making processes in an enterprise setting.

  • Experience working and communicating with multiple stakeholders and cross functional teams to build efficient mechanisms and processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a hi-tech industry sales environment with organizational structures, and industry data used in developing go-to-market strategies

  • Experience with building and leading operational cadences

  • Proven track record in modeling and building accurate pipeline and forecasts

  • Expertise in business planning, including sales coverage modeling, investment analysis, and recommendations

  • Experience working with executive leader(s) and managing stakeholders in a matrixed organization

  • Proficiency creating scalable programs that apply holistic approaches to sales planning

  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communications skills.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $237,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
