Amazon Senior Risk Analyst in Seattle, Washington

Description

We are looking for a Senior Risk Analyst to join the Denied Party Screening (DPS) Risk Management team. The ideal candidate will have a background in risk analysis, risk assessments, auditing, or deep dives into compliance risk topics. The Senior Risk Analyst will be responsible for DPS-wide risk management efforts that include identifying, assessing, measuring, monitoring, and reporting on risks to DPS and Amazon's sanctions compliance. This role calls for an individual with strong analytical reasoning and decision-making skills in complex compliance risk topics, who can confidently navigate areas of ambiguity and influence cross-functional teams with limited authority.

Key job responsibilities

Your decisions and team deliverables will help to proactively identify risks and empower DPS functional teams in making high-confidence decisions that are fundamental to protecting Amazon's sanctions compliance posture, and will help maintain the overall health of the DPS Sanctions program. In this position, you will:

  1. Plan and conduct periodic risk and control assessments.

  2. Maintain and update the DPS-wide process, risk, and control inventory.

  3. Maintain a prioritized roadmap to address risks and improve risk programs.

  4. Lead and support the team with the investigation and identification of early risk indicators.

  5. Work with stakeholders and establish critical controls required to mitigate risks. Continuous interactions with stakeholders to reinforce the objectives of risk management in strengthening processes.

  6. Assess the design effectiveness of critical controls and work with stakeholders on improvement opportunities.

  7. Identify information and data gaps, and drive risk mitigation and remediation plans for issues identified.

  8. Collect, collate, analyze, and disseminate accurate, timely, and actionable reporting on risks.

  9. Assess known and emerging risks and threats that impact Amazon's sanctions compliance.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 5+ years of experience in a sanctions compliance, audit, or risk management environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship

  • Experience in internal audit and risk management or equivalent

  • Excellent risk management experience, preferably with experience in compliance and sanctions risk, including: conducting sanctions risk investigations with knowledge of regulatory and industry requirements, delivering results in highly ambiguous and fast-moving environments while managing several projects simultaneously with precision and accuracy, conducting organization-wide risk assessments and calibrating risk ratings.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
